A FLOOD WARNING update has been issued for Hawick (Slitrig). River levels remain high but have now peaked following a period of persistent rainfall. Any flooding impacts may continue overnight but it is an improving picture overnight and into tomorrow morning. Flooding is possible around the #34;Village#34; area and Kirkwynd Bridge. Over 80mm of rainfall is forecast overnight on Wednesday and through Thursday morning and there is a risk that the flood warning threshold will be exceeded. SEPA will continue to monitor the event and will update this message with more detail through the night when more accurate predictions will be possible.
